During TIFF, I was lucky enough to see Spike Lee's Bad25, the chronicle of the creation of the follow-up to the best selling record of all time, Thriller. It was amazing, and the Q&A with Spike Lee afterwards was hilarious and completed the experience. The doc doesn't only deal with Bad, it showcases the work ethic of the number one entertainer in the world and the people who worked with him and loved him. It also deals with how those people dealt with his passing. YOU MUST WATCH THIS:

SEXYBLACK EXCLUSIVE: Chris Brown's "She Ain't You"
This is clearly the best joint on F.A.M.E. and now we have the appropriate visuals. As far as the song goes, when you sample and basically copy a classic, you're bound to have a hit. Here, Chris samples SWV's "Right Here/Human Nature Remix", which of course samples Michael Jackson's classic "Human Nature". The video and performance itself is a wonderful homage to Michael and I like it alot. Check it out.

New Michael Jackson video for "Hollywood Tonight"
So here's what's up. I DO NOT like any of the new Michael material. It sounds unfinished and just pales to his work from his prime. The "Hold My Hand" video was nice, but Akon ruined it. Now here is the second release from Michael's posthumous work, "Hollywood Tonight". Again, the song sucks, but everynow and then a video comes along that is so much better than the song, that it makes the song better. That's how I feel about this video. Enjoy:

SEXYBLACK EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: NE-YO -- Beautiful Monster (Full Length) + Champagne Life (Full Length) [SO HOT!]
UPDATE: THIS NE-YO THING JUST GOT REAL!
Ne-Yo is attempting to re-define the Music Video as Mini-Movie ala Michael, and more precisely, Janet Jackson. Janet made Rhythm Nation 1814, a solid, singular narrative, using multiple videos off her amazing 2nd A&M records release. The narrative was about drugs, kids, overcoming adversity and hope. Now almost 22 years later, Ne-Yo is attempting something similar with his first two releases off Libra Scale, "Beautiful Monster" and "Champagne Life". It wasn't until I saw the FULL LENGTH version of these videos (that also star Columbus Short) that I really saw the creativity and Ne-Yo's determination to give his fans more than just another Ne-Yo experience.
According to Ne-Yo's label, Def Jam, the story centers on the misadventures of 'The Gentlemen,' the trio of Jerome (played by Ne-Yo), Clyde and Leroy. After encountering a mysterious figure, the three are granted everything they could ever want – money, fame, cars, girls...and superpowers; the only catch being that they cannot fall in love. For Clyde and Leroy, the pre-condition is easy. Not so for Jerome (Ne-Yo), who falls for Pretty Sinclair, a vivacious no-nonsense stunner. He captures her heart and they begin a relationship – which is when she contracts a strain of his super-powers and suffers an adverse reaction that effectively drives her crazy.

Farewell My Summer Love by Michael Jackson -- It's been a year without Michael, and it's the first day of Summer. I always loved this song. It really captures the tender feeling of young love.
Never Can Say Goodbye by The Jackson Five -- Still can't say goodbye to Michael. Classic.
Camouflage by Brandy -- Brandy recently admitted to not being focussed on her last album, Human. She is right. That album wasn't the greatest, but this song did stand out.
The Morning Papers by Prince -- One of my all time FAVORITE Prince songs. Lyrically amazing: "Should we ask the moonlight on your face, or the raindrops in your hair? Or should we ask the man who wrote it there in The Morning Papers?" Amazing guitar solo, as usual.
Faster by Janelle Monae -- This album (Archandroid) is one of the best of the year by far. It is SO Creative!!!! For those who are curious, here's a sampling. By far not the best track, but it gives a good impression of what the rest of the album is. Janelle is a superstar.
This Is Us by Keyshia Cole -- This is just a good song.
Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart by Alicia Keys -- One of my favorite songs of last year. The other was Maxwell's Pretty Wings. These two songs stood out as the most memorable of 2009.
She Wants Me by Dru Hill -- This song reminds of How Deep. A little sample of the upcoming InDruPendence Day.
Take It From Here by Justin Timberlake -- Another classic joint from his classic Justified release.

We Are The World, Part 2
If they were ever gonna do it, the events of the past 7 months (Michael's passing, the Haiti disaster, and the fact that it happens to be the 25th anniversary of the original release), suggest that this would be the best time. But do you think they can top perfection?

Like the original 1985 recording, which raised money for famine relief in Africa, the new We Are the World will consist of both a song and a video. Organisers are asking artists to stay in Los Angeles for an extra night after the Grammy awards. According to Billboard, Richie and Jones hope to include Usher, Natalie Cole and John Legend, as well as many Grammy nominees.
The late Michael Jackson, one of the song’s co-authors, is also expected to be integrated into the project.
