SEXYBLACK Special Investigation: When Handshakes Go Wrong

On November 12, 2010, Kevin Love became the first NBA player in 30 years to score over 30 points and 30 rebounds in one game.  But then, unfortunately,... something happened that would inevitably erase that tremendous feat from all sports fan's minds in one swoop...

Kevin (30-30) Love will from now on simply be known as Kevin (Tainted) Love.

THROWBACK VIDEO OF THE MONTH: Destiny's Child's "No, No, No (Part 1)"

I actually like this version and video better than the fast one.  Can you believe it's been over a decade that Beyonce has been owning us?  Do you want to feel weird?  She was actually only 17 when she shot this video!!!!  When was the last time you saw a 17 year old look that, have that much talent and that much stage presence????  Some children are just destined to be stars.  Amazing.  Enjoy.

I Know I'm Late But...

...Nicki Minaj, you have my attention.

TWO hot releases off her upcoming Pink Friday CD.  I am the last to get on the Minaj train, (as a matter of fact, I'm still not sure that both feet are on), but she has dropped TWO singles that are uncharacteristic of her feature work.  The first being "Your Love" which samples Annie Lennox's classic "No More 'I Love You's".  I mostly like that song because of the creative use of the sample.  But I just, for the first time, heard her new joint, "Right Thru Me".  Amazing production on this track is trumped only by the vulnerability in the lyrics and the presentation.  In keeping with the mood of the song, Nicki has provided an emotional video that most of us who have ever been in love, I mean, REALLY in love can relate to.  Nicki Minaj, I am listening... you keep this up, and I may have to pick up Pink Friday when it comes out next week.  If you're late like me, please enjoy Right Thru Me:

SEXYBLACK FIRST LOOK: Keri Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock"

I'm addicted to this song, but I would've directed a hotter video with SICK choreo, but I understand why she went this route.  This song has been receiving some flack as some people felt she was coming off conceited.  I actually understood the song to be empowering to all women, and promoted confidence as an anthem of sorts.  I love the shout-outs to the most famous black female performers of this generation and the last (especially Janet Jackson and TLC).  What's your take?
